Sensoril® Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera)

smart berries supplements

Sensoril ® Ashwagandha is a patented extract of Withania somnifera, commonly known as ashwagandha. It is known for its potential health benefits and has been used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. Sensoril Ashwagandha is derived from the root and leaves of the plant and is standardized to contain a minimum of 10% withanolide glycoside conjugates and 32% oligosaccharides. This extract has been extensively researched for its potential health benefits, including its effects on brain function and mental health.

Reducing stress and anxiety
Ashwagandha has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety levels in both healthy individuals and those with anxiety disorders. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study found that individuals who took Sensoril Ashwagandha had a significant reduction in stress and anxiety levels compared to those who took a placebo (Chandrasekhar et al., 2012). Another randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study found that Sensoril Ashwagandha supplementation significantly reduced anxiety symptoms in individuals with generalized anxiety disorder (Andrade et al., 2000).

Improving cognitive function
Sensoril Ashwagandha has been shown to improve cognitive function, including memory and attention. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study found that individuals who took Sensoril Ashwagandha had a significant improvement in immediate and general memory compared to those who took a placebo (Choudhary et al., 2015). Another randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study found that Sensoril Ashwagandha supplementation improved reaction time, cognitive processing speed, and executive function in healthy individuals (Pingali et al., 2014).

Reducing inflammation
Sensoril Ashwagandha has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects. A study on healthy individuals found that Sensoril Ashwagandha supplementation reduced levels of the inflammatory marker C-reactive protein (CRP) (Raut et al., 2012).

Improving physical performance
Sensoril Ashwagandha has been shown to improve physical performance in athletes and active individuals. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study found that Sensoril Ashwagandha supplementation improved muscular strength and endurance in healthy individuals (Wankhede et al., 2015). Another randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study found that Sensoril Ashwagandha supplementation improved cardiorespiratory endurance in elite cyclists (Shenoy et al., 2012).

Overall, Sensoril Ashwagandha appears to have many health benefits, particularly in reducing stress and anxiety, improving cognitive function, reducing inflammation, and improving physical performance.
