Fenugreek Extract (Trigonella foenum-graecum)

alpha life supplements

Fenugreek extract is a concentrated form of the beneficial compounds found in fenugreek seeds, particularly saponins and fibers such as galactomannan. Fenugreek extract has numerous health benefits, particularly for blood sugar control, inflammation, and testosterone levels.

Improves blood glucose control
Fenugreek extract has been shown to help improve blood sugar control in people with type 2 diabetes. In one study, taking 10 grams of fenugreek seed powder per day for eight weeks led to significant reductions in fasting blood glucose and hemoglobin A1c levels compared to a placebo group (1). Another study found that taking fenugreek extract before a high-carbohydrate meal helped to lower blood sugar levels in healthy individuals (2).

Reduces inflammation
Fenugreek extract contains compounds that have anti-inflammatory properties. Studies have shown that fenugreek extract can reduce inflammation in various parts of the body, including the gut and joints. In one study, taking fenugreek extract for six months helped to reduce joint pain and stiffness in people with osteoarthritis (3).

Increases testosterone levels
Fenugreek extract has been shown to increase testosterone levels in men. In one study, men who took fenugreek extract for six weeks experienced significant increases in testosterone levels compared to a placebo group. The study also found that fenugreek extract supplementation was associated with improvements in sexual function and energy levels (4).

May help with appetite control and weight management
Fenugreek extract contains compounds that may help to suppress appetite and promote weight loss. In one study, taking fenugreek extract before a meal helped to reduce calorie intake and increase feelings of fullness in overweight and obese individuals (5).
